Cyclo-Therapy System Guide: What it is & How it could help you
Our range of electric adjustable beds and riser recliner chairs use innovative NHC Cyclo-Therapy® technology to give you a soothing, pain relieving massage from the comfort of your own home.
What is Cyclo-Therapy®?
Muscles and joints are easy to damage and can be affected by a range of different conditions and problems. One of the most effective ways to target and ease pains within the body is through massage. Gently stimulating the affected area can increase blood flow to it and cause an increase in the body’s pain threshold.
But visiting a physiotherapist or professional masseuse on a regular basis can quickly become very expensive, so what is the solution?
Massage therapy you control
Our range of electric adjustable beds and riser recliner chairs use innovative NHC Cyclo-Therapy® technology to give you a soothing, pain relieving massage from the comfort of your own home.
With an easy to use operation wand, you can remain in control of the intensity of the massage to suit your individual needs. There are also various massage settings available, so you can choose whether you want to gently relieve muscle pain and joint stiffness or opt for a higher setting for a more vigorous deep tissue massage to increase your pain threshold.
How does Cyclo-Therapy® work?
Medically approved as a Class IIa medical device by The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, NHC Cyclo-Therapy® uses a mechanical technique called cycloid vibration. (Excludes Northern Ireland)
It employs a three-way technique that rotates and pulsates out from the centre in a whirlpool motion, vibrating in all directions for optimal benefits without causing harmful side effects.
This form of vibration therapy is well known and respected in the medical world and is enjoyed by people of all ages and levels of fitness for its tangible health benefits.
What are the health benefits of using Cyclo-Therapy®?
Our NHC Cyclo-Therapy® massage system is proven to reduce the pain symptoms of a variety of mild and severe medical conditions*, including
- arthritis or sciatica
- night cramps and spasms
- varicose veins
- swollen ankles
- hip and back pain
…and spinal disorders, to name but a few. *Excludes Northern Ireland.
If you suffer from any of these conditions, everyday actions such as sitting down or getting in and out of bed can be a struggle. You may also rely on medication to offer you relief.
Our vibrating massage technology can be used as a form of long-term treatment and can help to restore mobility and give you greater freedom of movement to improve your quality of life. It can also help to reduce the amount of pain-relieving medication you need.
“I use it morning, noon and night!”
Cyclo-Therapy® massage is designed to ease muscle aches and joint pain without adding pressure that could cause further discomfort. It also helps to stimulate blood flow to promote healthy circulation, which can be especially helpful for those suffering from swollen ankles, varicose veins or oedema. It can even help those living with paralysis or after suffering a stroke.
Brenda is a perfect example. When she was younger she had a bad car accident, and the paralysis she suffered down her right side was affecting her circulation. With the help of our built-in Cyclo-Therapy® technology, she now finds it far easier to get up, about and keep being independent.
How does Cyclo-Therapy® differ from other therapies?
Unlike other massage systems that use ‘to and fro’ movements – which may have detrimental effects on some health conditions – our Cyclo-Therapy® massage system is a non-invasive form of treatment.
Other furniture simply hammers the muscles and joints, which is at best ineffective, and can actually cause more damage. The Cyclo-Therapy® built into our adjustable beds and riser recliner chairs uses multi-directional rotating motion to provide a massage that relieves and soothes muscles. It’s also able to provide effective vibration therapy, stimulating improved blood circulation and completing the full massage experience.
“The NHC Cyclo-Therapy® massage system has also been helpful to me and I believe the money I have spent has been well invested given the many features of the Contour AV adjustable bed.”
Mr Holland, from Sterchford
Could Cyclo-Therapy® help you recover from a sports injury?
By helping to reduce inflammation and restore a normal range of movement, NHC Cyclo-Therapy® can also be used as a method of injury rehabilitation if you are suffering as a result of a sporting accident. Over time, it can help circulation that is vital part for effective healing which may help promote long-term health, speed up recovery and this may help reduce the risk of further injury.
If you simply want a quick energy boost or are keen to ease away the stresses and strains of everyday movement, our massage equipment can improve your day-to-day living while offering you a relaxing and invigorating experience.
“Adjustamatic’s NHC Cyclo-Therapy has really helped ease my aches and pains from arthritis. I suffer particularly in my hands and wrists which impacts my ability to play the drums, which has been a long-time passion of mine.
However, since regularly using one of their handheld massagers the aches don’t come on so quickly and I can spend more time on the drums, pain free!“
Mr Hewines, from Walsall
